The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu

The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu

This is a project that utilizes the former Shimizu Elementary School building, which has a history of about 90 years, in Shimizu, Kyoto, and converts it into a hotel. While inheriting the characteristic design, it has been reborn as a hotel with modern comfort. We were in charge of architectural design supervision, interior design and design, and FF&E design and construction. Shimizu Elementary School is one of the schools that has been highly evaluated for its unique architecture in terms of its location, exterior decoration, and interior design. Based on the hotel's concept of "engraving memories and linking them to the future," we paid the utmost respect to the historical Western architecture and its internal space, and designed it to revive memories while preserving them. In addition, we combined architecture as a new function with the interior space to express nostalgia and newness. [Customer issues/requests] It was necessary to design the hotel so that it would function as a hotel while making the most of the existing historical elementary school architecture. It was also necessary to hold discussions on how the hotel should be accepted in the Kyoto area. [Solution] We worked with creators on everything from architecture, landscape, interior, FF&E, artwork, graphics, uniforms, and every detail to create a completely new and unique space. While the corridors and stairs where elementary school students used to run around are still there, when you open the door of the classroom where the children were studying, you can enter a completely different contemporary world. In order to maximize the value of the existing details that have carved the history of the architecture and interior space, we were particular about materials that complement the materials without insisting on them. The reflection of the material reflected in the semi-gloss enhances the existing architectural design. In addition, we aimed to create a space composition that can only be enjoyed here by harmonizing the total design coordination of artwork, graphics, uniforms, and the interior and FF&E design in a well-balanced manner. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Toru Moginuki [Design and planning, design supervision] A.N.D.: Ryu Kosaka, Shohei Urata, Hiroki Yasuda / Hiroyuki Nishikawa [FF&E design] A.N. Shinjuku Medical Examination Plaza Women-only floor

Shinjuku Medical Examination Plaza Women-only floor

This is a project to expand the women's floor of one of the largest health checkup facilities in Tokyo from one to two and renew it with a new concept design. Based on the concept of “providing women working in the city with a comfortable and smart health checkup experience,” we aimed to create a space that takes into consideration the flow lines, eyesight, and comfort of both patients and working staff. . Through repeated discussions with many stakeholders, we were able to create a highly hospitable health checkup service by meticulously designing the details of function and design. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] The customer's top request was to significantly increase the capacity of female patients and work efficiency. The challenge was to maximize the number of examination rooms and the number of seats in the waiting area while also ensuring ease of use and comfort. On the other hand, in order to build further superiority of "Shinjuku Medical Checkup Plaza" in the medical checkup facility market, we aimed to increase the sense of specialness and added value. [Solution] "SMART HEALTH RESORT" is newly established as the concept of the entire facility, and the existing 7th floor ladies' floor is set as "COMFORT RESORT", and the 8th floor to be newly established as a floor that provides an even more special feeling than the 7th floor is set as "PRIME RESORT". and configured concept design. Aiming to provide a comfortable and smart checkup experience for women working in the city center, the spatial expression is based on a hotel-like luxury feeling, and the color scheme is based on beige and light wood grain. The hardware materials are not standard colors such as gold or silver, but are unified in pink bronze to create a special feeling. In addition, interiors of the examination room is generally decorated with solid wallpaper in many medical facilities, but at this facility, we have differentiated ourselves by using patterned wallpaper in each room so that you can be examined in a relaxed manner. . Securing the required number of examination rooms and waiting seats within the limited floor space was an extremely difficult problem, but through repeated discussions with laboratory technicians and medical device manufacturers, we were able to By deriving and planning the minimum size of each examination room, we were able to achieve the required number of rooms, which would allow us to achieve both "smooth examination work" and "not make patients feel cramped." <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Hisashi Ozasa, Yukako Ninomiya [Planning] Hiroyu Imaizumi [design, layout] Kumiko Oishi, Mei Watanabe [Production and construction] Mai Sakai, Nohara Kikuchi

Kawarayu Onsen Playground NOA / Kawarayu Onsen Station Campsite

Kawarayu Onsen Playground NOA / Kawarayu Onsen Station Campsite

This project is one of the projects for the residents of the submerged areas to rebuild their lives and find purpose in life as the Yanba Dam is constructed. For about six years, our company was in charge of basic planning, schematic design, working drawings, supervision, and consulting to support local operating companies for the "regional development facilities" in the "Kawarayu area" and "Yokobe area". . The Kawarayu area is a tourist spot with Kawarayu Onsen, which has been around for over 800 years, and is adjacent to JR Kawarayu Onsen Station. From the viewpoint of location characteristics, scenery, and business scale, we proposed a business of "station square campsite & BBQ (barbecue) x hot bath facility". While listening to the opinions of people in the district, Naganohara Town, and Gunma Prefecture, we will comprehensively provide everything from the establishment and support of the local management body to the invitation of partner companies to operate the campsite, consulting on business plans design, layout. planned and produced. The facility consists of the JR Agatsuma Line as the border, the upper level is "Kawarayu Onsen Playground NOA" with a cafe and hot springs, the lower level is a plaza where you can enjoy BBQ and bonfire, a wood bath, a tent sauna, and canoeing and kayaking on the dam lake. It has become the “Kawarayu Onsen Station Campsite” where you can enjoy yourself. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] [Business] It was necessary to unravel what it means for local residents to rebuild their lives and create something to live for. Through repeated discussions with everyone, we found issues that aim to revitalize the area, such as coexistence with the hot spring town, promotion of local employment, especially for young people, and promotion of a U-turn of the outflowing population. In addition, it was requested that the facility be differentiated from facilities planned in other districts and similar facilities, and to have the ability to attract customers and originality. [concept design aspect] Taking into consideration the visibility of the bridge through which tourists visit the dam and from the opposite shore where there is a lot of traffic, we will attract passers-by with concept design that is unique to this area, and have multiple uses (hot baths, restaurants, rest areas) , observatory, tenants, conference rooms, etc.) to create a facility that is easy to operate. [Solution] [Business] The Yanba Dam project took 70 years from planning to completion, but there were pros and cons to the construction of the dam, and many residents had moved out. From this point of view, what we emphasized was the proposal of a multi-view and bird's-eye view of the business plan. Hearing various business ideas desired by local residents, making proposals for their feasibility, making adjustments for non-competition with companies in the surrounding area, and taking into account the differentiation of each facility, We aimed for a project that emphasized the character of the district. [concept design] The concept is "Azuma River", which is the origin of the name of the former Kawarayu area. As we proceeded with concept design, we received an opinion from the locals that it was like a “boat that floats with the community on board,” and we made it a distinctive building that symbolizes the two concepts. The interior space has an elongated shape that extends east and west, and we planned a flow line and slope that draws a gentle curve that integrates various functions to create an easy-to-use space that allows people to move around. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Satoshi Arai, Hitomi Yamamoto [Planning and consulting] Kenichi Sakazume, Yuki Shimokuni [design, layout] NAU: Sakae Kirioka, Nana Osano

Yamba Lake Station Maruiwa

Yamba Lake Station Maruiwa

This project is one of the projects for the residents of the submerged areas to rebuild their lives and find purpose in life as the Yanba Dam is constructed. For about 6 years, we have been in charge of basic planning, schematic design, working drawings, interior administration, and consulting services to support local operating companies in the "regional development facilities" in the "Kawarayu area" and "Yokobe area". bottom. At the Yokokabe Regional Development Facility, we not only provide facility planning, but also planning including support for the establishment of a management body to be established in the area, attracting new companies, consulting for restaurants operated by residents, menu development, and supervision of operations such as opening equipment.・Produced. The facility concept design is based on the concept of "passing on and developing the memory of the town", and the former Naganohara Town Hall*, which was scheduled to be demolished after more than 90 years since its construction, has been reproduced as a symbol of the district. By creating opportunities to see the history of the town for the children who will be responsible for the district in the future, as well as for the tourists who visit, we designed it so that the new businesses run here will lead to the revitalization, reconstruction, and development of the district. *The old government building, built in 1929, is a two-story wooden structure with a hipped roof. It was said to be the only wooden government building. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] [Business] Along with the construction of Yamba Dam, residents of the submerged area will rebuild their lives and find purpose in life. I was asked to establish a new business. In addition, it was requested that the facility be differentiated from facilities planned in other districts and similar facilities, and to have the ability to attract customers and originality. [concept design aspect] Make use of the old government building filled with memories of people in some way, consider visibility from a national highway with heavy traffic from the viewpoint of attracting customers, and plan to attract passers-by. It was requested that the plan should be able to take advantage of the panoramic view of the lake with a distant view of the Tsuba Dam in front of it. [Solution] [Business aspect] In order to realize the request, the first priority was to make proposals for the feasibility of business ideas by local residents. The third is to strongly support the establishment of a local management parent company to differentiate the district regional promotion facility from the "district". In this project, we aimed to "open a restaurant" that everyone in the district had no experience with, and promoted it in a way that was close to the characteristics of the region and the business. In particular, we had repeated dialogues about ``searching for characteristics of the Yokokabe district'' and ``utilization of local recipes,'' and worked together to develop menus and promote plans that are closely related to the region. We invited a professional chef for the trial production and tasting event, and supported the local revitalization by raising the awareness of the people in the area, improving the cooking technique, and strengthening the self-reliance. [concept design aspect] As a result of a survey of the existing government building when converting the function from the government building to the lake station, we chose to reproduce it with a modern update while giving consideration to the nostalgia of the former town hall government building. bottom. The retro and distinctive design of the old government building has been recreated and visually appealing. In addition, by creating an open opening facing the Yanba Dam, it has become a place with a top-class view among the facilities around the dam lake. In order to maintain the flavor of the old government building while building in accordance with the current regulations, the structural design was also carefully considered. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Satoshi Arai, Hitomi Yamamoto [Planning and consulting] Kenichi Sakazume, Yuki Shimokuni [design, layout] NAU: Sakae Kirioka, Nana Osano

JR Nichinan Line Nichinan Station Building

JR Nichinan Line Nichinan Station Building

~The station building as a community space where everyone can spend time comfortably, not just waiting for trains~ Based on the concept of creating a place to nurture a community, workshops and questionnaire surveys were conducted with local residents from the planning stage. User needs are identified and reflected in the design. In order to create opportunities to experience various cultures through books during the time spent in the station building, we have also set up a corner where you can browse books and picture books. In order to convey the charm of local resources through the use of the station building, we actively adopted the local specialty "Obi cedar" in various parts of the space and planned and produced the creation of a space where users can experience the charm of Obi cedar through experience. [Customer issues/requests] We received a request to make the Nichinan station building, which had no place to stay and was only a place for getting on and off trains before renovation, to foster a local community and make it a place where you can feel the "local charm". [Solution] In order to convey the appeal of local resources through the use of the station building, we collaborated with a local design office, Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd. In order to create opportunities to experience the charm of Obi cedar through experience, we adopted wood for the station building façade and window frames while harmonizing with the forest that spreads behind the station building. At the same time, we implemented a signage plan that allows the presence of the station to be recognized even from afar, and produced a space that harmonizes and fuses with the surrounding environment and the station building using wood as the base. [Customer's voice] People other than JR users have also started to visit the station building, and it has been renovated as an attractive space where local people can gather. We would like to continue using the station building as a place for the local community, such as holding events. <Our project members> [Sales] Reiko Ibe [Planning producer, workshop concept design, design supervision] Mari Matsumoto -Related links- [News release] ・ NOMURA produces regional revitalization in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture through public-private partnership 1st stage: Old folk house restoration facility opens ・Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture and NOMURA, Ltd. conclude a “comprehensive cooperation agreement on regional revitalization” ・Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture and NOMURA, Ltd. conclude a “regional revitalization entrepreneur exchange program”・ NOMURA is working as a creative partner to create a community that co-creates the community. UNIQLO TOKYO

UNIQLO TOKYO

“LifeWear” is UNIQLO's commitment to creating perfect clothing that meets the lifestyle needs of everyone. In 2020, UNIQLO will further evolve its existing UNIQLO stores and open new UNIQLO stores that embody LifeWear in Yokohama, Harajuku, and Ginza. Mr. Kashiwa Sato will be involved in these stores as total producer and creative director, and will provide all customers who visit the stores with the best clothes and services that UNIQLO can think of. We provided support from the stage of the architect selection process for the new global flagship store UNIQLO TOKYO, which opened at MARRONNIER GATE Ginza 2 in Ginza, and were in charge of everything from basic interiors schematic design to construction. Part of interiors and exterior concept design was handled by Herzog & de Meuron, a Swiss architectural unit that has won the Pritzker Prize, known as the Nobel Prize of architecture, and the Prince Takamatsu Memorial World Culture Prize. This store is an information store filled with the charm of UNIQLO now and in the future. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] - Based on the concept of "Everything about LifeWear is here", it became necessary to create an unprecedented store as "the most advanced retail store in the world".・ Hardware: The UNIQLO Marronnier Gate Ginza store on the 7th floor of Marronnier Gate Ginza 2 was relocated and expanded to 4 floors from the 1st to 4th floors, and was renewed for the first time in 8 years. Considering architecture and interiors concept design comprehensively, a large-scale renovation was required to create new value.・Intangible aspects: Opening a store in the Ginza/Yurakucho area, which is undergoing redevelopment, is an important and major challenge for UNIQLO's store opening strategy, and it was required to create a new store for customers visiting the town. [Solution] For this problem 1. On the hardware side, we created a new UNIQLO with a “bold store concept design that exposes the existing architectural framework.” Most of the structure of the building, which was completed in 1984, was in good condition and beautiful. The VOID space*, which was boldly planned by cutting off the existing slab and running through the four floors, visually connects the upper and lower floors, contributing to an open and dynamic space composition. * VOID space: A space with no structure intentionally created. On the soft side, we positioned the store as a new source of UNIQLO, with a "full line-up of all UNIQLO products, each with its own unique characteristics." In addition, a well-thought-out circuit route plan has realized product development and a comfortable shopping experience that make the most of the sales floor area on one floor. Leveraging our strengths in design construction, we aim to create stores that not only offer a shopping experience but also provide information about the appeal of UNIQLO in the future, and that UNIQLO strives to be a higher-quality store that embodies LifeWear. supported. In addition to the characteristics and location of the store, we place importance on respect for the history and location of the land, and we strive to become a social presence that locals who open stores can think of as their own store. I also helped with the store concept. * displays is from the time of shooting. The contents of displays differ depending on the season. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Muneaki Takahashi, Hidenori Miyaura, Yuta Watanabe [Planning] Makoto Yamazaki, Shoji Tominaga [design, layout] NODE: Kazuya Naka, Hiroshi Yamaguchi [Production and construction] Atsushi Hatano, Risa Yoshida , Fumiyasu Yamagami, Yuka Ohara, Kataka Odajima, Atsushi Ohmae, Yasutake Miyashita / NOMURA (Beijing) Co., Ltd..: Yuya Tsuchiya
