LOQUAT Nishiizu

Located in the Toi district of Nishiizu, the Former Suzuki Residence is a large mansion consisting of a main building and three storehouses, and has been popular as a central presence in the area since the Edo period. Keeping in mind the value of spending time with the beauty of the past, we have renovated each building and exterior as an auberge with two rooms for overnight stays. The floor plan of the main building, which gives a feeling of being closed off, has been reconsidered, and the space has been expanded vertically and horizontally to ensure modern comfort. We wanted to inherit the atmosphere of the past by making the most of the spatial individuality of each of the three storehouses and adding a minimal design. Two of them were renovated into lodging buildings with luxurious outdoor open-air baths, and one of them was a lounge. and a function that also serves as a spa. Combined with surrounding accommodation facilities, we have realized an auberge that blends into the community and is loved. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] While Toi has long been popular as a hot spring inn area, there are few variations of restaurants, and there are cafes that serve as sightseeing bases and tourism content that makes use of the food resources of Nishiizu. For many years, the lack of excursion consumption by tourists has been a problem. Rather than prioritizing business profitability, the request was that the facility should be of benefit to the region, and that it would continue to be accepted and loved by tourists and local residents. [Solution] At our company, we believe that it is necessary to respect the passage of time that the buildings have accumulated on this land, find out the flavor of each building, and create a design that can turn them into charm. The floor plan was reviewed while considering the structural burden of the existing non-conforming building. , Sannokura respects the taste of each building, such as the two-story vertical spread and the mud wall hidden behind the board wall, and that becomes the charm of each facility itself. [Customer's voice] As a result of the restoration of the former Suzuki residence, which represents the history of Doi, with extremely high-quality design and construction technology in a short delivery time, not only tourists who come to "LOQUAT Nishiizu" but also the local community Residents also visit the museum almost every day, and it has become a place of relaxation that provides a little bit of richness in their daily lives. The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu

This is a project that utilizes the former Shimizu Elementary School building, which has a history of about 90 years, in Shimizu, Kyoto, and converts it into a hotel. While inheriting the characteristic design, it has been reborn as a hotel with modern comfort. We were in charge of architectural design supervision, interior design and design, and FF&E design and construction. Shimizu Elementary School is one of the schools that has been highly evaluated for its unique architecture in terms of its location, exterior decoration, and interior design. Based on the hotel's concept of "engraving memories and linking them to the future," we paid the utmost respect to the historical Western architecture and its internal space, and designed it to revive memories while preserving them. In addition, we combined architecture as a new function with the interior space to express nostalgia and newness. [Customer issues/requests] It was necessary to design the hotel so that it would function as a hotel while making the most of the existing historical elementary school architecture. It was also necessary to hold discussions on how the hotel should be accepted in the Kyoto area. [Solution] We worked with creators on everything from architecture, landscape, interior, FF&E, artwork, graphics, uniforms, and every detail to create a completely new and unique space. While the corridors and stairs where elementary school students used to run around are still there, when you open the door of the classroom where the children were studying, you can enter a completely different contemporary world. In order to maximize the value of the existing details that have carved the history of the architecture and interior space, we were particular about materials that complement the materials without insisting on them. The reflection of the material reflected in the semi-gloss enhances the existing architectural design. “Creating the future of work styles for the NOMURA Group” Group company base consolidation project

In March 2021, NOMURA, Ltd. opened a new office in the Daiba Garden City Building adjacent to its headquarters (Odaiba, Tokyo) that is suited to the new normal era. The company aims to encourage employees to communicate and demonstrate greater creativity while taking advantage of the diverse work styles and values of NOMURA Ltd. Group. In 2019, NOMURA Group launched a group company base consolidation project with the aim of creating an environment in which employees can work together and demonstrate greater synergy. In response to the changes in work styles and social issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the company set three keywords, "health," "experiment," and "brand," and explored the nature of real office space in the new normal era to create "future work styles." - We believe that the function of the office in the new normal era will change from a "workplace" to an "innovative space that induces communication," where diverse human resources from inside and outside the company gather and actively exchange ideas and encounters that can only be found in the real world. Therefore, the communication space "RESET SPACE_2" was designed with the concept of "Unique Park" and was planned as a park-like space that any employee can use to suit their diverse and unique work styles. 100% fairwood is used. ・CONFERIUM is a proposal for a new conference room area, and is an attempt to "displays the behavior of working styles" that proactively shows unique meetings. The know-how used in displays spaces was applied to office spaces, such as darkening the common corridors to highlight the conference rooms as displays. ・Group addresses were adopted in the creative work area. In addition, the creative floor allows concept design concept design concept design as the sense of scale and texture of materials, which are great strengths when designing spaces. By clarifying the purpose, it became a low-cost and sophisticated space. This project was planned, designed, construction, and operated by NOMURA Group.

Green Stamp Karuizawa Dormitory Shoukan

"Bashoukan" was built in 1892 in Nishikatamachi, Hongo-ku, Tokyo, part of the residence of Count Abe, the former feudal lord of the Fukuyama Domain, and moved to Karuizawa in 1971 by Setsuo Kasuga, the founder of Green Stamp Co., Ltd. It has been restored and used as a memorial hall for the Green Stamp Karuizawa Dormitory. In 2020, as a retreat facility used by both Green Stamp Co., Ltd. and Kenedix Co., Ltd., we renovated "Shoyukan" at the same time as the new Annex. We were in charge of designing and interior administration the refurbishment of Shoukan, including seismic retrofitting, and FFE installation work for the entire facility. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] Since the initial relocation, various extensions and renovations have been carried out, and the connection with the annex is only at the point of the corridor, and the structure has been burdened and subsidence has been seen. rice field. Due to the aging of the facility as a whole, and because of the climate of Karuizawa, it is difficult to use the Shou-kan in winter. It was thought that I would like to refurbish it while leaving the vestige of the old as much as possible. [Solution] Based on the investigation of the Shoukan, we restored the building to the simple form it was in when it was relocated as much as possible. The courtyard faces the annex, giving the facility a sense of unity. While respecting the design of the time as much as possible, we aimed to extend the period of use, including winter, by installing heat insulation and air conditioning equipment in invisible parts. Wanoi Kakunodate

A storehouse located in a group of samurai residences in Kakunodate, Akita Prefecture has been refurbished into a lodging facility. The concept is "KURA STAY", a cultural experience hotel with the setting that the life at that time was preserved in a storehouse. Our hotel consists of three warehouses, "Bushigura", "Gakko Kura", and "Tanbutsu Kura", which are rented as one building. The space incorporates Kakunodate's traditional crafts of kabazaiku and iburi gakko production scenes, textile art such as vegetable dyeing, samurai family crests, etc., to provide a local cultural experience throughout your stay. In addition, decorations, etc. are arranged in cooperation with local shops, etc., and by installing guides in the facility, it also plays a role as a tourist base that encourages excursions. <Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests> In order to increase the experience value of the facility, we were asked to create stories and propose experiences that can only be found in Kakunodate. <Solution> Establishing the concept of "KURA STAY" where you can experience the life of the time, incorporating items stored in the storehouse before renovation into the interior, and selecting furnishings related to the history of the samurai residence, I added value to the stay itself.
