PARA HEROes Exhibition

PARA HEROes Exhibition

The "PARA HEROes Exhibition" is an exhibition in which four young artists and creators use the theme of "para table tennis" to express the appeal of the sport and the players, in order to spread the spread of diversity and inclusion to Japan and the world. This is a planned exhibition. As part of NOMURA 's efforts to support activities that lead to the promotion of sports, and also in connection with the "COLORS event one year before the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games" held in October 2019, we will provide planning and concept design. Sponsorship was realized in the trial. What did the artist feel when he encountered "para table tennis", what did he think when he tried to incorporate it into his work, and what did he want to convey through the work he created? What I saw from there was a figure that expressed what I saw through each sensibility without stereotypes or preconceptions. We also hope that visitors will break away from their preconceived notions through the expressions of the artists, increase their empathy for parasports, and concept design the works with an open mind. did The elements that make up the space make use of the base material, and the base material associated with each art is also woven. In order to bring out the charm of each piece of art, we were particular about how it was presented. In line with NOMURA Group's goal of "providing added value from an environmental perspective," we concept design this displays so that about 90% of it can be reused. The wood used is selected according to the Fairwood Support Declaration. <Our project members> [Planning support and concept design] Akane Yamaguchi, Ryo Onishi -Related links- [Release] ・ NOMURA, Ltd. sponsors concept design work “PARA HEROes Exhibition 2” is being held well ・ NOMURA, Ltd., a happy impact on society Start company-concept design activities of “Social Good” to contribute to solving social issues

Sogetsu 90th Anniversary Akane Teshigahara Solo Exhibition

Sogetsu 90th Anniversary Akane Teshigahara Solo Exhibition

[Outline of the project] The layout of the venue for the solo exhibition "HANA SO" by Akane Teshigahara, the 4th head of the Ikebana Sogetsu School, held to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. Normally, the works to be displays are decided in advance, and it is common to think about the space that will make the best use of them, but for this displays, the head of the school proposed a reverse process of arranging flowers inspired by the space. I was. In addition, since the platform-shaped rock garden "Heaven" designed by the sculptor Isamu Noguchi will serve as the displays venue, it was an essential project to take advantage of its spatial characteristics. Therefore, we cut out a 0.5mm-thick mirror-finished stainless steel plate into a series of rhombuses, and created creases one by one to cover the stone garden, creating an expression like "mirror ivy". The ivy reflects the surrounding scenery while hiding the texture and expression of the rock garden below. The colors and outlines of the flowers arranged in the gaps are diffusely reflected, creating a kaleidoscope-like visual effect. In this way, by inserting a new layer between the two "works" of the flower and the rock garden, I thought of bringing about a new fusion and harmony, as if the flowers were gently enveloping the rock garden. Our concept design team “onndo (*)” was in charge of this property. *What is "onndo"? operated by nomura and nendo design office Our creative team has a business alliance with the concept design office "nendo", which is headed by world-renowned designer Oki Sato.
