Usufuku Head Office

This is a project to rebuild the new office of Usufuku Main Store, which was damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Usufuku Honten is a fishing company with a history of over 130 years, founded in 1882. Based on the philosophy of “living with the sea,” we are engaged in deep-sea tuna fishing and tuna longline fishing, and are responsible for the reconstruction of Kesennuma and Tohoku.

For the exterior concept design, we reprinted the copper plates used for the outer walls of the former main residence, which were washed away by the tsunami, and used new scale walls made of copper plates. As time passes, the texture and color of the copper plates will change like those of the former main residence. In addition, elements of a tuna fishing boat are extracted, and R-windows and handrails are incorporated into the architecture. The scope of concept design that we were in charge of was the exterior concept design, the entrance on the first floor, the office on the second floor, the president's office on the third floor, and the reception room.
