Kiuchi Construction 100 Year History Gallery

Kiuchi Construction 100 Year History Gallery

Kinouchi Construction Co. in Shizuoka built a new building as part of its 100 year anniversary project. We planned this in response to a request to build a gallery in a corner of the city to showcase our company's 100 year history in displays for the purpose of recruiting and communicating with clients. By showcasing a historical timeline spanning 100 years from our founding to the present day and the trajectory of our challenges in construction technology, we sought to deepen our understanding of the history that has come our way and to create a space that Kiuchi Construction can effectively use as a communication tool to weave the next 100 years. (Social issues/customer issues/requests) - A request was made for the design to show the characteristics of Kinai Construction well and to have a dignified design. - We were asked to show information that was easy for recruiters and clients to understand, and to provide content that made it possible for subcontractors to recall projects they had worked on in the past and have conversations with Kiuchi employees. - With regard to displays, we were asked to provide security for renewability. Solution: To express the characteristics of a company that has its own factories and has developed by actively engaging in the concrete business, concrete was made the core of the spatial expression. The concrete that underpinned the growth has also become displays fixtures, giving us a sense of the weight of history and creating an impactful look. The walls are a graphics-sheet-covered chronology that shows the evolution of a growing company, constantly responding to the needs of the times while overcoming the waves of economic boom and bust, from its founding to post-war recovery. In the central showcase, moments of technological challenges that have been milestones in the course of 100 years are cut and shown as diorama models. Rather than lining up the figures of the completed architecture, we used them as models of construction scenes, making them easier to understand as illustrations. In addition, by elaborately representing the people involved in the construction work as models, we created a displays with a sense of presence in which the sounds of the site and even the breathing and voices of the people of Kinai Construction and its subcontractors could be heard, making it easy to create opportunities for communication. < our company Project Members > (Sales) Ken Kumagai (design, layout) Yoshihiro Kitamura (Production/construction) Kazuo Maeda

In addition, a 3.5m long symbol tree was placed in the center to create an impact.
