KOGEI Art Gallery Kanazawa in Ginza

This project aims to improve the appeal of Kanazawa crafts in the Tokyo metropolitan area and strengthen its ability to convey the message. It relocates and opens "Dining Gallery Ginza no Kanazawa," which was located on the sixth floor of a commercial facility, as a full-scale crafts gallery on the street in Ginza 5-chome. Utilizing the brand power that has been cultivated thus far, we will create a new stage that connects Kanazawa with the world, culture and business, tradition and innovation, and convey the appeal of Kanazawa crafts to the world, while also nurturing young craft artists.

The first floor will be used as a space for displays and selling craft art works by the younger generation, while the second floor will follow the previous store's gallery function and be used as a space for displays and selling everyday crafts and rare traditional crafts, with each floor having a function that brings out the appeal of the works.
On the first floor, we installed lattice partitions that are an arrangement of traditional Kanazawa designs, creating a business meeting space. In addition, because the shop is located at the intersection of Sukiya-dori and Miyuki-dori, we took advantage of the two large windows facing each street to create a window space that can convey the appeal of the works to visitors. On the second floor, we placed movable fixtures that can be used for both displays and storage, and we devised a way to make the space flexible by making it possible to use it as a table during workshops.
