overview

At the beginning of the planning process, Akikusa Gakuen asked us about earthquake retrofitting of the gymnasium.
Along with earthquake-proofing construction and the renewal of the gymnasium facade and interiors, the passage connecting the school building and the gymnasium will be changed to ``a dark, damp atmosphere, but a bright and clean passageway.''The school also wants to create a space that can be preserved for the next generation.'' In response to this request, we decided to concept design a passageway space that expressed Akikusa Gakuen's identity.
The most important aspect of this plan was to create a space that people can continue to feel attached to. Therefore, this time, we created the origins of concept design together with the students in a workshop, and worked on "concept design progress" to create a sense of attachment and pass it down.
We asked the students to bring in a photo that expresses the ``Akikusa-ness'', and from the words expressed in the form of ``#〇〇'', we extracted the feelings that were expressed, sublimated it into concept design, and displayed it on the aisle. did.
By allowing students to consider concept design as their own and disseminate it to those around them, we promoted the idea that the ``Akikusa-ness'' would be passed down from generation to generation, and that people would continue to interact with the space with fondness.

Issues/requests

We received the above requests for concept design of the gymnasium in conjunction with seismic retrofitting, and to create a space that will last for generations to come.

solution

We held a workshop to extract the ``Akikusa-ness'' such as the school's good points and brand image from the students, and created concept design that would be passed on to the next generation.

Customer's voice

We would like to thank you for your careful support from the planning stage to construction and completion.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the students for providing us with a project of great significance for our university, as we were able to reconsider what ``Akikusa-ness'' was and were involved in the work of making it a reality, and we also received support from the alumni association for our alma mater. I feel it.
We were happy to see so many students cheering when they saw the passageway after it was completed, and we will use it for future public relations.
